Recovery of Marine Protected Areas

Over-exploitation of our oceans has degraded biogenic habitats. These habitats act as important nursery and feeding areas for species of conservation and fisheries importance, and provide important ecological and environmental functions including filtering water, binding sediments and capturing carbon.

As part of Dr. Emma Sheehan's applied Marine Ecosystems Research (aMER) group, I worked on projects that investigated the recovery of temperate marine assemblages in Marine Protected Areas using non-destructive underwater video systems.
